Positioned along the leafy, prestigious stretch of Gloucester Avenue, this project demanded a sensitive yet uncompromising approach to modern residential design. At Deans Property Preservation Ltd, our objective was to breathe new life into the historic framework of the property, elevating the traditional layout to meet the demands of sophisticated, open-plan living while respecting its classic North London context.
To unlock the property’s true potential, we reconfigured the internal hierarchy, stripping away previous piecemeal additions to establish a cohesive, voluminous footprint. By extending the rear and carefully manipulating floor levels, we introduced a breathtaking sense of scale and proportion. Extensive, slender-framed glazing was employed to draw natural light deep into the home, effectively blurring the boundary between the refined interior living spaces and the beautifully landscaped courtyard.
The hallmark of the Gloucester Avenue residence is its rigorous attention to materiality and finish. We introduced a curated palette of rich, tactile elements—pairing the warmth of bespoke timber joinery and wide-plank flooring with the crispness of honed stone. The final result is an exceptionally executed, contemporary home that feels both expansive and intimately connected to its architectural roots.
